We invest in digital health research to generate real-world evidence on patient recovery, contributing to the advancement of orthopaedic outcomes through data-driven insights.

Patient-Centred Approach

IORN Recovery

IORN Recovery is a digital health application developed by Foundry Clinic Ltd as part of the International Orthopaedic Research Network initiative. The app enables patients to contribute anonymised step-count data to support clinical research into post-operative recovery and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

By passively collecting step-count data through Apple HealthKit — with explicit patient consent — IORN Recovery allows clinicians and researchers to study real-world mobility patterns following orthopaedic procedures. This research aims to improve rehabilitation protocols, set more accurate recovery benchmarks, and ultimately deliver better outcomes for patients worldwide.

The app is designed with privacy at its core. No personally identifiable health information is shared without consent, and all data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR and Apple's HealthKit guidelines.

Step-Count Tracking

Passively records daily step counts via Apple HealthKit to monitor mobility and recovery progress over time.

Research Contribution

Anonymised data supports international orthopaedic research into post-operative recovery patterns and rehabilitation outcomes.

Privacy by Design

Built to the highest data protection standards. No data leaves the device without explicit, informed patient consent.
